Did you know that the origins of ice cream can be traced back to ancient China and Persia? Around 200 BC, the Chinese enjoyed a frozen mixture of milk and rice. Meanwhile, in Persia, people made a frozen Dessert with vermicelli, rose water, and saffron, cooled in snow.
 
Ice cream made its way to Europe in the 16th century. Italian chefs introduced ‘sorbetto’ to the French court, where it quickly became a favorite among royalty. By the 18th century, ice cream was all the rage in England and America, with the first ice cream parlor opening in New York City in 1776.
